Pokin' Holes – Ep39 – InstantNightlife

Episodepokin holes / | No Comments

instantnightlifeDespite hurricane winds and monsoon like rain last night was a blast. The Lansdowne never fails to deliver and the Dart crew took advantage of everything they had to offer. Yes when Dart rolls into a venue they bring out the best in entertainment like live band karaoke. Yes, live band karaoke, it's sick... (Videos of the fun will be coming soon in another blog post, check back for updates)

InstantNightlife (twitter) and its founders Shahriar Khushrushahi and Kayvan Zainabadi kicked off the night with Pokin' Holes. InstantNightlife provides real time data about Boston's hottest clubs so you know which clubs you should be hitting up that night and which you shouldn't be wasting your time with.

For example, say you are a guy, it's 10pm and you are trying to figure out with your friends which club you can get into quickly and be surrounded by a plethora of females (no, this isn't coming from personal experience). If you go to InstantNightlife they'll tell you everything from which lines are the shortest to, as Thomas put it, which places are sausagefests.

Check out the show below... (more...)

instantnightlifeDetermining where to go out at night can be a difficult decision.  You typically want to know if the bar has a good crowd, is there a line, what's the girl to guy ratio?  Wouldn't it be great if you could get a little real time intel on which bars you should be heading out to?

InstantNightlife (twitter) is the app to help you figure out where you should be going out tonight.  It provides you with unbiased real-time updates from Boston's best nightclubs so you can check what's good before & while you're out!

Check out more info about Thurday's event... http://bit.ly/c48L7j

Pokin' Holes – Ep38 – BirdSwell

Episodepokin holes / | No Comments

birdswellWhat a blast last night at SCVNGR. Seth, Michael and the gang opened their doors to the Dart community and even let Doug Flutie in (yeah we drive that kind of celebrity to Dart). We had a ton of new faces and I hope all the first timers were able to meet plenty of awesome people and will come back next week!

Julie-Ann and Jacob showcased their company BirdSwell and I thought got some great insight and hopefully sold some of their sick shirts as well.

Our panel for the evening included:

Patrick Brennan: CPA, Solving finance and accounting problems for privately held businesses, Marathoner, Future Triathlete

Jessica Manganello: Attorney with a brand new firm focused on emerging businesses and emerging artists.

Kabri "Kabeard" Hemrajani: Lead Rioter at @RiotVine, travel junkie, gadget nerd. Only needs: Friends, Family and a stiff drink. Say Hi!

We have to give Patrick a big Dart community bump as he runs for State Rep in Massachusetts. We are certainly not political at Dart but we do support those from the community aspiring for something bigger. (more...)

Pokin' Holes Pre Show – BirdSwell

Pre Showpokin holes | No Comments

birdswellI don't know about you but the idea of hanging out in the sun on the beach all day is pretty appealing. There are few places that are as relaxing and enjoyable as the ocean. That's probably why so many people dig the surf culture.

BirdSwell (twitter) is surf inspired art you can wear. Julie-Ann has taken the surf culture and produced her first line of artwork which you can buy and wear. I've got to say that the designs are awesome and you can check them out at the BirdSwell website.

Information about the event and location...

Hear more about BirdSwell in my interview with Julie-Ann and Jacob below...

We're going to be at SCVNGR's offices this week. The event starts at 6:45pm and we are going to head down to Gaslight afterward for some cocktails and conversation.

4th Floor
580 Harrison Avenue
Boston, MA 02118

If you have any questions just get in touch, we should have a lot of fun this week.
