Pokin' Holes – Ep27 – The Second Glass
Episode • pokin holes / dartboston • hubspot • jayme moffi • joe coyne • pokin holes • rebecca corliss • the second glass | No Comments
A little Yellow and Blue wine, a few Narragansetts, the Hubspot studios, the Dart community and karaoke always makes for a great time. Our topic for the night was The Second Glass and what they should be focused on moving forward.
If you don't know The Second Glass you had better start getting involved! They are a great company that already offers so much for the Gen-Y wine consumer. Whether you want to know what the hot wine of the week is, do some wine tasting or hit up the mega wine event, Wine Riot, The Second Glass is your guide to learning about wine.
We had a couple first timers on the panel last night which made for a fun discussion. The panel included:
Rebecca Corliss: Singing Inbound Marketer @HubSpot and a cappella guru extraordinaire. ROCK STAR.
Joe Coyne: Financial modeling guru at Bain Capital Ventures and a badger for life.
Jayme Moffi: Bioodynamic badass who has worked every angle of the wine industry from distributor to sales to sommelier at restaurants (soon to be on Twitter)
Listen to what they had to say...
Thank you to Microsoft for being this week's sponsor! To learn more about all the great stuff Microsoft is doing for the Boston community be sure to follow Microsoft NERD and Gus Weber on Twitter.

One of the real treats of the evening however was the wrap party at Tommy Doyle's. I've got to give it up the the karaoke singers from the Dart community (who you can watch sing below) (more...)

Pokin' Holes Pre Show – The Second Glass
Pre Show • pokin holes / dartboston • hubspot • microsoft • morgan first • pokin holes • Pre Show • the second glass • tyler balliet • wine riot | No Comments
Just this past week I was standing in a liquor store trying to figure out which bottle of wine I should buy and take over to a friends house. I'd say I'm confident when it comes to drinking wine but pretty unsure of myself when it comes to buying it.
So thank god for The Second Glass. Tyler Balliet and Morgan First from The Second Glass have created a resource educating the Gen Y wine consumer. They offer everything from a wine publication to incredible educational opportunities and events such as Wine of the Weekend and Wine Riot.
Now that they have established a fantastic brand, listen to what is in store for the next phase of The Second Glass which will probably dominate our discussion on Thursday night at Hubspot!
Big thanks to Microsoft for being this week's sponsor! (more...)

Such a fun night at Game On! I have to say, I think that was one of our best venues yet as we had the entire downstairs to ourselves, it was quiet and of course the Sarahs were awesome for letting us hang out there all night.
Of course the night was all about Kabir Hemrajani and his company RiotVine. He is going to be pitching this Tuesday at Venrock for Dart's first Capitalize event. If you don't get a ticket remember we are live streaming the event so be sure to participate online!
Helping us out last night in the Pokin' Holes discussion we had a 3 great panelists two of which were first timers.
Alex King: Director of Marketing with @webnoter
Vadim Revzin: Bentley grad and a man looking to micro fund start-ups
Nick Ward: Gainfully employed geek by day, gamer by night
Check out what these guys had to say about RiotVine...
